A one-off emergency payment for people in extreme financial hardship due to an extreme circumstance such as escaping family and domestic violence, a natural disaster, or release from prison.

How to apply

1. Contact Services Australia by phone or in person within 7 days of the extreme circumstance. 2. Provide evidence of the circumstance (e.g. a document from a support service or police). 3. Must already be receiving or eligible for an income support payment.
